Wiesmann borrows new engine from BMW for their new model

Wiesmann has been out of business for quite a while and they are trying to come back since 2005. Now, the German based automobile carmaker has signed a deal with BMW. It will help them to bring cars on the road very soon. The new deal between Wiesmann and BMW is meant for new V8 engines from M division. The German based company specializes in hand-built convertibles. Not much is known about the new car, and they also didn’t disclose any details about the specification of the new engine.

Nonetheless, it must be pointed out that BMW M5 uses 4.4 liter biturbo V8 engine that produces an impressive 591 horsepower. The future coupe by Wiesmann will have a lot to work on. It is not the first time they have collaborated with BMW M engine for the first time. They have been using the engine from 1993 and have said that pre development phase is already completed. Wiesmann’s CEO Mario Spitzner said in a statement that they work together extremely well and are delighted to collaborate with reliable BMW group.

Wiesmann will disclose the details of the new car in future. The company confirmed that car will be built from scratch using new materials and technology. The discussed vehicle will be branded as luxury car and will ensure that it does have Wiesmann design. Not many people are familiar with the name even though they have built number of coupes and roadster over the years. It came to a halt in the year 2013 due to financial difficulties before being purchased by Roheen and Sahir Berry three years later.
