Many premium carmakers such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi are trying their best to woo the young generation. For them style quotient along with technological features is much more important than driving experience. This is where Volvo XC40 comes into the picture and it has already launched in Europe. Even though Volvo XC40 will compete against the BMW X1, both of them are completely different. BMW X1 has terrific driving experience and gives importance to substance. On the other hand, new XC40 crossover gives more importance to other aspects.

First test drive experience of Volvo XC40 is finally out and it will give us an idea what the fuzz is all about. For European market, Volvo XC40 will be offered with two 2.0 liter engine options and AWD system. The first is the T5 petrol unit that gives 247hp and D4 diesel engine that gives 190 horsepower. Both of the engines will be mated with eight-speed automatic gearbox. Incidentally, it is the first model to incorporate CMA modular architecture. This architecture will be used for small cars in future.

The interior of Volvo XC40 has gone through some radical changes and for small family it is a great car. The portrait styled infotainment system is 9.0 inches and digital instrument cluster is 12.3 inches. This is not the end as the Swedish automaker is planning to introduce all-electric and hybrid version of it soon. The company is also planning to offer Volvo XC40 under their fresh subscription process known as “Care by Volvo”. If you are eager to know how XC40 fares against BMW X1 then watch this video now.
