Volkswagen is all set to introduce new set of vehicles at the upcoming Beijing Auto Show. Majority of them are meant for Chinese market only. Models such as Tayron SUV, Lavida Plus and Lavida Grand Plus are such example of it. Nonetheless, German automaker will use this event to reveal new Touareg and I.D. Vizzion Concept. The study made its debut at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, but there is more to it than just a pretty aesthetics. Volkswagen I.D. Vizzion Concept is an all-electric sedan with level 5 autonomous.
If you are not familiar with level 5 autonomous, then let us give a brief explanation about it. In this autonomous level, driving aspect of the entire car is taken care of automatically. In other words, Volkswagen I.D. Vizzion Concept will be without steering wheels, pedals and conventional dashboard. Fortunately or unfortunately, level 5 autonomous vehicles won’t be available to its customers is near future. However, there is a good chance that rest of the technology could be seen in the final production version.
Volkswagen I.D. Vizzion Concept will comprise of two electric motors and uses 111kWh lithium-ion battery. It enables the electric vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 62mph in 6.3 seconds before hitting the top speed of 112mph. The estimated range according to NEDC is 413 miles, but in real world situation it would be significantly lesser. Ahead of the Volkswagen I.D.
