Volkswagen doesn’t like to tinker too much with the design and it was surprising when we first came across CC. Volkswagen Arteon follows the footstep of shocking fans who find German carmakers design approach to be defensive. It made its debut at Geneva Motor Show and now the pricing details are also revealed for the home market. Range topping Volkswagen Arteon comes with one of the strongest engines. One of them is 2.0 liter TSI engine which produces 258 pound-feet of torque and 280 horsepower. Biturbo 2.0 liter TDI engine gives an output of 240 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque.
Both of the mentioned engines are connected with dual-clutch automatic transmission that sends powers to the 4Motion AWD system. The base price of Volkswagen Arteon with gasoline engine is €49,325. If you add few goodies the price would certainly rise up. The diesel variant is much more expensive and it starts from €51,600. Volkswagen Passat Highline cost €46,675. Hence, Arteon is €3,000 costlier. Volkswagen Arteon is expected to compete against BMW 6 Series Grand Coupé, and Audi A7. Customers can opt for Elegance and R-Line versions with wide arrays of optional kit.
This sedan is based on MQB platform which is also used in Volkswagen Golf and Audi S3. The exterior of Volkswagen Arteon is beautiful even though it might bit busy. The nose dives down quite a bit which gives it a sporty look. Headlights in the grille give it a fresh look. However, the cabin hasn’t gone through some major changes and is similar to any other Volkswagen car. It has 9.2 inch touchscreen with gesture control. The trunk luggage space stands at 563 liters with uprooted rear seats and when folded it increases to 1557 liters. Customers will get their hands on Volkswagen Arteon by mid-June.
