When it comes to rare and highly desirable supercars, they come to auction quite frequently. In this post, we are going to discuss about a more special supercar which was seen on James Bond 007’s last movie Spectre. Jaguar C-X75 was unveiled in the year 2010 as a concept and it was an instant hit. In May of 2011, Jaguar announced plans to build production version of C-X75. Development of the car was going smoothly, until it hit roadblock due to the Great Recession. Hence, only five prototypes were made.
It’s a shame that world never got to see Jaguar C-X75 as a successor XJ220. Nonetheless, it made an impressive presence in the hit movie Spectre in 2015 starring alongside world’s famous secret agent. One such prototype is hitting auction block and is conducted by RM Sotheby’s on 30th of November. Auctioned Jaguar C-X75 has a chassis number 001 and is powered with a V8 engine. It offers 492hp and is equipped with limited-slip differential, AP Racing brakes and a huge hydraulic handbrake. It is slightly different than the proposed production version, but no one is complaining.
Jaguar C-X75 can be seen in a chase scene in which Mr Hinx is trying to catch up with James Bond who is driving Aston Martin DB10. The DB10 was exclusively made for the movie and only 10 units were made. One of them fetched a whopping amount of £2,434,500 in 2016. However, we don’t expect C-X75 to command such a price even though it is quite rare. According to RM Sotheby’s, it is estimated to be £620,320 – £930,480.
