The Japanese carmaker has previewed the details of the new sedan concept which will be showcased at Tokyo Motor Show. The current, 14th Generation of Toyota Crown was revealed in December 2012. In 2015, it got a little bit of tweaking and now it has been five years no drastic changes have been made. At the upcoming motor show, production prototype of Toyota Crown Concept will be showcased and full revelation will be done next year. The first model was revealed all the way in 1955 and the current will be the 15th version of it.
The new Toyota Crown Concept will comprise of new features such as vehicle to vehicle communications and advanced safety system. The company claims that they have tested on the tracks of Nurburgring. The Toyota Crown Concept will be based on their new Global Architecture which is also present in the new Camry. Many experts are wondering which version of this concept will land in North American shore. Some believe that it would be replacement to the Lexus ES or GS sedan. It is not surprising that Lexus GS is closely based on the current Crown. Lexus GX is based on Land Cruiser Prado.
Judging by previous Lexus sedan models, next generation Lexus sedan might be based on Toyota Crown Concept. The dimensions of the Toyota Crown Concept suggest that it is bigger than the current Lexus LS apart from height. Lexus will soon be launching a new model of ES. Lexus will also disclose an unidentified concept at the same expo. Hence, we will have to wait for few weeks to know the full details about it.
