Toyota USA surprised everyone by giving first glimpse of their new Avalon TRD and Camry TRD. They showcased the new model on Social Media as a part of ‘#TRDtakeover’ video series. Full revelation of Toyota Avalon and Camry TRD is scheduled for this month’s Los Angeles Auto Show. Few critics have talked about the feasibility about the cars, but that didn’t deter Toyota from releasing three videos on Facebook page. The clips give us an extensive look at Toyota Avalon and Camry TRD without revealing anything about them. Exterior of Toyota Avalon TRD looks aggressive and sports gloss black accents, unique alloy wheels and sportier side skirts.
The sporty cues are carried on the inside too and cabin of the sedan black leather and suede seats featuring red contrast stitching. Other significant changes in the special edition consist of embroidered headrests, red seat belts and special floor mats. These features on Toyota Avalon TRD do give it a distinct look. Toyota Camry TRD is also quite identical to Avalon TRD. Nonetheless, there are few changes in the Camry TRD such as aggressive rear end and contrasting black roof. The rear end of the Camry features gloss black diffuser, a rear wing and a TRD exhaust system. Inside, red and black leather along with TRD branded floor mats are also made available.
When it comes to technical specifications, Toyota is tight lipped about them. It is anticipated that Toyota Avalon TRD will feature 3.5 liter V6 engine that offers an output of 268hp (371PS) and 335 Nm (248 lb-ft) of torque. On the other hand, Toyota Camry TRD might come with either 2.5 liter four-cylinder or 3.5 liter V6 engine. We expect the latter because of the model’s position as sport sedan. Hence, we could expect around 301hp and 361 Nm of torque. Click on the shortcuts to view the videos.
