In the world of EV’s, Tesla is a force to reckon with and many automakers are playing catch-up when it comes to the success of the company. Models such as Model S and Model X are already established and roadster is on its way. But, this is the just the beginning for Elon Musk led tech company as he has some interesting news regarding its electric crossover. He confirmed Tesla Model Y for production during recently concluded Q3 financial-performance conference call.
Not many people are familiar with Tesla Model Y, we must tell that it is electric crossover and is expected to be popular than Model 3. Model 3 was such a craze that over half a million people deposited $1000 even before it hit the production. Tesla Model Y will be slotted below Model X and is expected to borrow many features from Model 3. However, it will be taller form of a compact crossover. If this turns out to be true, then it would compete against the likes of Mercedes-Benz EQC and Jaguar I-Pace as both of them are classified by compact.
Tesla Model X and Audi E-Tron are mid-size. It is speculated that Model Tesla Model Y will be revealed by next March and production will begin from early 2020. Pricing of Tesla Model Y crossover might start from $45k that will undercut Model X, but it a higher than Model 3.
