Subaru WRX STI S209 latest teaser comes without camouflage

Subaru has dropped another teaser for WRX STI S209 which is set to make its debut at North American International Auto Show on 14th January. Till now, R205, S206, S207, and S208 are four special versions of WRX STI not offered in US. Hence, it will mark the first time Subaru offers S20X outside its home country of Japan and will be marketed with full swansong. Subaru WRX STI S209 is set to be offered in limited units but the exact figure has not been revealed by the company.

In this latest teaser Subaru WRX STI S209, some speculations were confirmed over standard STI. For instance, there is a proper big rear which might be inspired from the Type RA Special Edition and a pair of dive planes on the sides of front bumpers. Details of Subaru WRX STI S209 are limited as of now. But its predecessor was launched in the year 2017 which came with an extra 28hp and 33Nm of torque over standard WRX STI that is rated at 324hp and 433Nm of torque.

The last STI model was Japan exclusive S208 which was powered with turbocharged 2.0 liter flat-four 325hp unit. However, STI bound for US will have 2.5 liter boxer engine that offers 305hp as standard whereas for Type RA, it is 310hp. For, now we have to wait till 14th of January to see what Subaru has up their sleeves. Whatever maybe the case, it is set to be hugely popular among fans for different reasons.
