This special model is exclusive to the Japanese market and this limited edition pays homage to EJ20 boxer engine. This legendary engine made its debut on the first-gen Legacy in 1989. This engine went on to grace other Subaru models along with competition models in the WRC and 24 Hours Nurburgring. As the name of Subaru WRX STI EJ20 Final Edition suggest, it marks end of production of this iconic engine in japan in this current financial year.
Japanese buyers would be able to order Subaru WRX STI EJ20 engine powered model till 23rd December 2019. This model is based on WRX STI Type S. It brings forth styling and equipment upgrades that would make WRX STI Final Edition even more enticing in Japan. Subaru WRX STI EJ20 Final Edition comes with WRC-inspired gold-painted BBS 19-inch forged aluminium wheels, Cherry Red accents on the front grille and rear bumper. Moreover, there are also steering wheel wrapped in Ultrasuede, Ultrasuede/leather seats with silver stitching and accents with silver seat belts and others.
Subaru WRX STI EJ20 Final Edition with twin-scroll turbocharged boxer engine offers an output of 304hp and 422 Nm of torque. Power is channelled to all four wheels through six-speed manual transmission. Power is controlled with Brembo 18-inch ventilated disc brakes with 6—piston calipers at the front and 2-piston at the rear. Only 555 units of this special edition will be made and each of them is priced at ¥4,110,000.
