Skoda Vision RS Concept Hybrid hatch revealed at Paris Auto Show

Skoda has revealed Vision RS Concept at the 2018 Paris Auto Show. Skoda Vision RS Concept Hybrid previews styling language of all future RS models and also compact class models. It is rumoured as a larger successor to the current Rapid. Dimensions of the five-door hatchback are 171.50 inch long, 56.33 inch high and 71.25 inch wide with 104.3 inch wheelbase. Skoda Vision RS Concept Hybrid is spacious for four passengers with 430 liter of boot space. Production version of the model will be able to accommodate five passengers. Design of Skoda Vision RS Concept Hybrid is quite unique and is evident from sporty edges and precise line along with several motorsports inspired features.

On the front of Vision RS Concept Hybrid, there is sculpted bonnet that showcases Skoda logo made from illuminated crystal glass, new radiator grille with high-gloss black carbon fiber illuminated slats, and angular LED headlights with four glass stones. Other features include carbon fiber spoiler and substantial air space in the lower grille. From the Skoda Vision RS Concept Hybrid side, it looks sporty and practical. It has frameless side windows, carbon fiber side mirrors with crystal-glass indicators, a third lateral window, recessed door handles and carbon fiber side sills with Czech flags on it. Hybrid Concept Hatchback sits on lightweight 20 inch alloy wheels. It has been optimized to reduce drag and also features carbon fiber detailing with a glass Skoda logo.

Rear of Skoda Vision RS Concept Hybrid hatchback features large diffuser and roof spoiler made from carbon fiber. Rear air vents are also made from same aforementioned material. L-shaped taillights are made from Bohemian crystal glass. Another interesting feature on the rear illuminated Skoda lettering on the rear screen. Power in the Skoda Vision RS Concept Hybrid comes from 1.5 liter TSI turbocharged gasoline engine (148hp) along with 75kW electric motor that gives combined output of 242hp (180kW). The setup helps the hybrid hatchback concept to accelerate 0-62mph in 7.1 seconds and top speed of 130mph. Using the Sport mode, 50-75mph acceleration time is 8.9 seconds. Other driving modes included are Normal and EV. 13kWh lithium-ion battery is able to offer a driving range of 43.5 miles in EV mode. Using household power socket and charging station, it takes 2.5 hours.
