Last November, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus SCG004S was unveiled to the world. At that point, the company claimed that it will be using twin-turbo 5.0 liter V8 engine that said to have an output of 650 horsepower. Now the company’s head Jim Glickenhaus said to Autocar confirmed that it use another engine. The engine he was talking about was 3.8-liter twin-turbo VR38DETT V6 that also powers the Nissan GT-R. So, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus SCG004S might be coming with two less cylinders when it enters production. Nonetheless, the output of the supercar will be 690 horsepower.
The aforementioned output will be on entry-level variant and if customers want extra they can surely get it too. Nissan GT-R exclusively came with paddle-shift dual-clutch transmission. However, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus SCG004S will be offered with six-speed manual gearbox transmission. An auto box will also be available as an option. Jim Glickenhaus gave his view on why he chose this engine. According to him, Nissan GT-R engine is lighter than the V8 engine and “practically bulletproof”. This is also the reason why Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus SCG004S will be competing in the upcoming 2019 Nurburgring 24 Hours that also uses GT-R engine.
Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus SCG004S will be tested in the coming months. After that the company will commence the deliveries of the example to the customers. The price of the supercar starts from $400,000. The company is said to be producing only 250 units of Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus SCG004S’s.
