Land Rover is leaving no stones unturned when it comes to testing of the range-topping Vela SVR. Development of Range Rover Velar SVR is still going on and was recently seen in camouflage. It gives us an idea regarding its aggressive bodywork. Range Rover Velar SVR will be powered using supercharged 5.0 liter V8 that is rated at 550hp. Since, Range Rover Velar SVR is smaller in its size. It is expected that it would be faster than Range Rover Sport SVR. Both of these models use the same powertrain.

It is reported that JLR’s Special Vehicles Operations (SVO) division is working on updated SVR version of Jaguar F-Pace. If they succeed, the output will be close to 600hp with sharper characteristics. Exterior of Range Rover Velar SVR comprises of new front bumper with bigger air inlets, deeper side sills, and rear bumper that incorporates a sizeable rear diffuser. Additionally, it will also have quad taillpipes, bigger wheels with stickier tires and a rear spoiler. Cabin of the Range Rover Velar SVR will be high-tech and will get pair of body-hugging front seats. Alcantara will be heavily used and additional vivid colors.

SVO will incorporate several weight saving measures in the Range Rover Velar SVR and weight would be in region of 1,800kg. A revised air suspension setup will feature in the chassis that will possess necessary performance-oriented setting. It is expected that some off-road capabilities will be retained so that it can be easily distinguishable from F-Pace SVR. Range Rover Velar SVR will be targeting the likes of Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio and Mercedes-AMG GLC 63. Full revelation of Velar SVR is expected to be in coming months, possibly in January during Detroit Motor Show.
