Even though the world premiere of Range Rover Velar took place the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, its North American debut was held at New York Auto Show. Range Rover Velar underpins the same aluminum architecture of Jaguar F-Pace. The size of the Velar sits between BMW X4 and X6. It is the cheapest from the Range Rover variants, but comes with host of new and eye-catching technologies. The interior of the Range Rover Velar comprises of two 10 inch touchscreen. One touchscreen acts as an infotainment system whereas the other touchscreen shows wide range of functions and settings. Apart from two touchscreen, one will also find 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster. Velar is one of the most modern Range Rovers in the market. To refresh back the memory, Range Rover Velar fills the gap between Evoque ($41,000) and Sport ($65,000). The pricing of the Range Rover Velar starts from $49,900 in United Stated whereas it is £44,830 in United Kingdom.
The range topping model “First Edition” has the price tag of $89,300 and £85,450 for US and UK respectively. For US customers’, they need to shell out an extra $995, as destination and handling fees. The sale of the Velar will commence from this summer and will be available in three engine options. The first one is 2.0 liter diesel engine with eight-speed automatic transmission whose output is 180 horsepower. The other two engine options are 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that gives an output of 247 horsepower and supercharged V6 engine with 380 horsepower of output. It will be sold exclusively with the mentioned automatic transmission.
