An American startup by the name of Race Advanced Engineering Systems and Research (RAESR) just unveiled an EV supercar. This California based company has been working on this car from 2012. The name Tachyon comes from a hypothetical particle that is supposed to be faster than light. If initial declaration of the specifications turns out to be true then the name fits the vehicle perfectly. RAESR Tachyon Speed is rumoured to be powered with six direct-drive electric motor. It delivers an astonishing 1,250 horsepower and 4,948 Nm of torque.
The bodywork of the RAESR Tachyon Speed will be using carbon fiber that makes the car weight just 1,338 kg. All the works will make it accelerate from naught to 60 mph in just under 3 seconds. It can reach 120 mph in in 7 seconds before reaching a top speed that exceeds 240 mph. It has extremely low drag coefficient that stands at 0.39 which is little bit higher than Bugatti Chiron. The adjustable rear wings make the downforce variable and flexible. When it is in low downforce, it gives 400 lbs of downforce whereas it is 1,000 in high downforce mode.
In real world, RAESR Tachyon Speed is supposed to gives us a range of 150 miles which is quite good. At this point of time, we are not sure when the RAESR Tachyon Speed will reach production. But if everything goes according to plan, there is a good chance that it might. No extra news is with us for now, but they did reveal a video of it. Don’t forget to check it out.
