After months of teaser and camouflage, Ares Design has finally unveiled their latest project in final production specification. Dubbed as Project Panther 1 coachbuilt supercar and it’s their first product of Modena of “Legends Reborn” program. It might be named and styled after iconic 1970s De Tomaso Pantera. However, at the heart of this supercar is Lamborghini. It is because the retro-styled body rides on aluminum and carbon fiber hybrid chassis of the Huracan. It also uses naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine. However, Project Panther 1 supercar generates an output of 641hp at 8,250 rpm and 600 Nm at 6,500 rpm. It is attributed to the tuned ECU unit and exhaust system.
Engine is mated with seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and electronically controlled Haldex AWD system remains untouched. In spite of an additional 10hp, Project Panther 1 supercar weighs the same at 1,423kg. But, Panther 1 is 0.2 seconds slower when comes to 0-62mph acceleration figure when compared with stock Huracan. It takes 3.1 seconds to hit 62mph but top speed remains identical and stands at 201mph. if we compare Project Panther 1 supercar with donor car, it is longer and narrower and thus has unique proportions. The giveaway in Panther is shape of the door which reveals about the bespoke car.
Body panels are made form carbon fiber and pop-up headlights features full LED technology. Since, it is a coachbuilder vehicle, the interior is completely different. The only thing that is similar to Lamborghini is the digital cockpit. Cabin consist of interior panels in carbon fiber and leather along with custom made Nappa leather and Alcantara upholstery. Nonetheless, Ares Design can customize interior completely as per customer wish. Deliveries of Project Panther 1 supercar will begin from May. Buyers have to shell out €615,000, but Ares Design is asking for three months’ time frame.
