We have known for quite some time that Honda e Prototype was going to be quite identical to the production car, and now it has ben confirmed. Reservation for priority ordering online is now open in UK, France, Norway, and Germany. Pricing details is yet to be announced. Honda has released the first image of 2020 e production car and looks like pre-production concept. 2020 Honda e will make its global debut at next week’s Frankfurt Motor Show. Honda is offering two electric motor options that delivers 100 kW (134hp) and 113 kW (152hp) respectively. It has a peak torque of 315 Nm and is quite brisk. It is able to accelerate from 0 to 62mph in approx 8 seconds.
Battery capacity in 2020 Honda e is 35.5 kWh and is described by the company as one of the most compact in its class. It offers an electric driving range of 137 miles on a single charge. Honda believes that it is perfect for every day urban commuting. It also has fast charging capability and battery can be recharged to 80 percent in just 30 minutes. Since, 2020 Honda e has rear-wheel drive setup, Japanese automaker promises a responsive and fun experience on road with a sport and connected feel. As expected, rearview cameras and pop-out door handles is included in production car. Interestingly, Side Camera Mirror System is first in the compact segment and it brings significant benefit like styling, safety, aerodynamics, and refinement.
Interior of production 2020 Honda e remains true to prototype and boats five-screen full width digital dashboard and connected infotainment system. As primary infotainment displays, dual 12.3inch LCD touchscreens engrosses driver and front passenger too so that they can also enjoy same connectivity and comfort. With help from Honda Personal Assistant service, Artificial Intelligence is present that uses “unique contextual understanding to create natural conversations and provide access to a range of online services.” The Personal Assistant can be activated by saying “Ok Honda”. Owners can remain in touch with 2020 Honda e using My Honda+ smartphone app. Using the app, they can access battery charge control, range monitor, remote climate control, location monitoring and security with battery charge control.
