Porsche has finally launched 718 Cayman T and 718 Boxster T in US. Price of Porsche 718 Cayman T and 718 Boxster T starts from $66,400 and $68,500 respectively and it excludes destination fees of $1,350. The pricing makes 718 Cayman T and 718 Boxster T vehicles makes it expensive than base models by $9,500 and $14,300 more affordable than the GTS versions. Range-topping Porsche Cayman GT4 is priced from $99,200 and 718 Spyder starts from $96,300. Power in the Porsche 718 Cayman T and 718 Boxster T comes from 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder boxer engine. It is rated at 296hp (300 PS) and 380 Nm of torque.
The aforementioned flat-four engine is carried over from standard Cayman and Boxster. Both of them works in conjugation with standard six-speed manual gearbox or the optional PDK. When it is mated with PDK, it can hit 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds and achieves top speed of 170 mph. Porsche’s 718 Cayman T and 718 Boxster T features PASM sport suspension as standard. This is available as option on 718 S and GTS models that features re-tuned adaptive dampers and shorter springs which lowers ride height by 20 mm when compared with standard Boxster and Cayman.
To complement torque vectoring system, mechanical limited slip differential has been incorporated. It is difficult to tell difference between new T models ad regular one. However, upon closer inspection one would notice special lettering applied on the sides, Agate grey mirror covers, 20-inch 911 Carrera S wheels painted in Titanium Grey and high-gloss black exhaust tips. Traditional door handles are replaced with black loops and cabin features a sports steering wheel and seats. There is ‘718’ embroidery on headrest and high-gloss black trim on the dashboard and center console. As an option, bucket seats or 18-way adaptive sport seats and Interior Package which consist of contrast stitching with several hues, matching seatbelts, 718 lettering in the headrests and door opening loops.
