Porsche is already developing 718 Cayman GT4 that is reported to use naturally aspirated flat-six of 911 GT3, but it will be slightly detuned version. Now, if you are one of the Porsche Cayman GT4 owners, normal or Clubsport version, and would like to get more power out of it, then there is an option for it. DeMan Motorsport is offering power upgrade without turning to supercharger or turbocharger. DeMan Motorsport is New York based tuning company which is offering upgrades for Porsche Cayman GT4 and also Cayman GT4 Clubsport. It comprise of engine increase from 3.8 liter to 4.25 liters.
The flat-six also receives new crankshaft, custom pistons, stronger connecting rods and an ECU-tune. All these upgrades have helped the power to increase to 488 horsepower and 488Nm of torque. This figure is disclosed by RoadAndTrack and measured at wheels. At the crank, it is reported that it offers an increment of 176hp and 142nm of torque when compared with stock version. Along with these upgrades, redline has been increased to 8000rpm. However, with the help of titanium internals, it can be improved further by 500rpm.
These upgrades may seem enticing, but it won’t be cheap. It is priced at $28,500 and comes without free-flowing exhaust and Cobb access port which is mandatory to gain aforementioned output. Despite the high price, DeMan Motorsport claims that owners have upgraded other aspects of the car. This isn’t their first attempt to tweak with Porsche Cayman GT4. They used to offer 4.0 liter kit, but the current offering supersedes them.
