The Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport weighs 1,340 kilograms in road going specification. The track only Clubsport counterpart adopts stripped out interior cabin and weight shaving measures in order to shave off at least 40 kg. Finally Manthey Racing has successfully managed to cut some fat of 40 kg. It is all because of the hood and lightweight doors that are made from carbon fiber. It has installed a lighter battery and polycarbonate windscreen and due to this the weight loss has been achieved. Besides losing the Cayman GT4’s weight, Manthey Racing also developed an adjustable two way race spec suspension kit featuring linear bearings.
It has an adjustable sway bar and MR said that it has improved the driving dynamics of the race car. If compared to the standard model this upgraded variant arrives with a larger rear wing incorporating extended brackets. The Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport with its upgrade kit in place becomes the SRO homologized GT4 race car. Now it can compete in the GT4 category in a variety of races. It can now participate in the Pirelli World Challenge GTS and also in the IMSA’s continental tire sports car challenge GS class.
The North America Porsche Motorsport is in charge of selling the upgrade kit. It makes the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport more hardcore race car. For the Cayman road going GT4, the model is bound to get a facelift. The purists will be very happy when it will hear that it have the same naturally aspirated. But the 718 Cayman has made the switch to the turbocharged engine.
