Porsche is all set to introduce sleek roof SUV by the year 2018. The prototype of 2017 Porsche Panamera was seen recently. The ground clearance was increased in that model.  3rd generation Porsche Cayenne will be released next year. The Porsche Cayenne Coupe will compete against the like of BMW X6, and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe. It looks like that Sports Coupe segment is getting crowded. With the Porsche Cayenne Coupe it is going to be much more interesting. The Porsche Cayenne Coupe is expected to costlier and wouldn’t have practicality of the standard model.

The rendered image shows that the Porsche Cayenne Coupe will have taillight inspired from Panamera. Few other changes will be taken from 2018 Porsche Cayenne. Since, the roofline is sloped it would affect the rear headroom. The trunk capacity is also set to decrease because of this. Standard Cayenne didn’t have this kind of problem as it was non-coupe. According to some rumors, Porsche Cayenne Coupe will be a full electric version. The hardware can be taken from the Porsche Mission E which is production ready.

The prototype 2017 Porsche Panamera comprises of electric powertrain. Regenerative braking system is being tested by Porsche. If these rumors are true, then it will be more powerful than its two competitors along with Range Rover Sport Coupe. The chances of electric vehicle in this decade are low. Since, Mission E will be arriving by the end of 2019 or the early part of 2020. The crossover coupe is making its mark and will be there for a long time. BMW X2 is just an example of that and don’t forget the Audi Q4.
