On the occasion of Porsche’s 70th anniversary, the company is celebrating by making a debut of a new concept that pays tribute to their sports car. Dubbed as Porsche 911 Speedster Concept, it is designed to capture the essence of their sports car. It is a one-off model and gives us a glimpse of their series-production version. Nonetheless, we have already seen few spy photos of the production-ready model, but the German automaker said that road-going version won’t be ready to unveil until 2019. At this point of time, not much information is available with us but Porsche confirmed that it will have titanium exhaust system and 21 inch center-locking wheels with a Fuchs design.
With respect to Porsche 911 Speedster Concept, it will feature shorter but debonair look for the windscreen. The same can be seen on the 356 1500 Speedster. It will also possess carbon fiber rear cover that features double bubble design which hides the roll-over protection structure. The humps are connected by a floating third brake that helps in illuminating the “Porsche” sign at the rear end. Do look at the images and video for more clarification. Apart from the unique rear end, 911 Speedster Concept also comes with lightweight tonneau cover in place of traditional convertible roof.
The designers of this car have also installed carbon fiber composite hood and several retro-inspired components such as exterior mirrors and “50s-style central fuel tank cap”. The interior of the Porsche 911 Speedster Concept comprises of carbon fiber bucket seats for drivers that is wrapped in Cognac leather upholstery. Other features include Speedster badging on the dashboard and Cognac leather door pull straps. In an effort to keep the weight as low as possible, infotainment system along with air conditioner has not been included. The Porsche 911 Speedster Concept will feature flat-six engine that offers over 500hp.
