Pontiac Firebird is truly an American legend in the world of automotives. However, the VIN #001 and #002 Pontiac Firebird models are going to be auctioned. The auction will take place next month in Las Vegas at the Barrett Jackson auction. The models to be auctioned are the first Pontiac Firebird and the very first Firebird coupe models. The one in red is the first Firebird model while the one in silver is the first coupe. The Pontiac Firebird was originally launched by the company in the year 1967. It was then seen as an alternative to Chevrolet Camaro. Back then, Firebird brought to the market the Coke bottle styling and several engine options.
The body tags are provided for each of the Pontiac Firebird models. The Body 1 is for the convertible and the Body 2 is for the coupe. These two vehicles were used for advertising and for auto shows throughout their lifetimes. These two modes were found together in the same collection. They were provided with complete restoration. The restoration included the V8 units and the interiors as well. The two Pontiac Firebird models will be sold as a pair in the forthcoming auction.
Barrett Jackson has no estimate on these two icons so far. But it is likely that these Pontiac Firebirds will not come at a cheap price. So, time will tell at what price these two models will be sold during the auction. These are pure classics and enthusiast and collectors would surely love to have them in their collection. So, the auction next month is going to be an interesting one for them.
