At the Geneva Motor Show, we got to see Pininfarina H600 for first time and it quite stunning. New reports suggest that it is going to production soon. It will be available in US by the end of this decade. This news was disclosed by Hong Kong based Hybrid Kinetic which is a Chinese based EV startup. The length of Pininfarina H600 is 5.2 meters. This renowned Italian designer made this car specifically for the Hong Kong based EV startup. Hybrid Kinetic will also introduce two new concepts at Shanghai Auto Show.
The founder of the company is Yung Benjamin Yeung who is also the man behind Brilliance (Chinese carmaker). He is planning to take on Tesla Model S. Pininfarina H600 will comprise of hybrid powertrain with microturbine engine. It will be similar to the C-X75 concept but in this case it would be used as range-extender. The mentioned powertrain will produce output of more than 800 horsepower. The mentioned engine will help accelerate the car from 0-62 mph in 2.9 seconds and the top speed will be around 155 mph.
Even though the figure sound astonishing and ambitious but we will need to wait how it eventually pans out. HK Motors had plans to set up plant in Alabama but it fell through and now they have regrouped and will also introduce the car in China soon. According to the spokesman, he promised to deliver unlike many other Chinese firms. He realized that they are going to make mistake in future and how they recover from it will define them. The production of Pininfarina H600 will be done in China and they approximately build 200,000 units within 5-10 years.
