Peugeot has surprised us all by revealing 508 Sport Engineered Concept. It will make its debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. It gives us a preview for company’s electrified, performance focused vehicles. Peugeot Sport created Engineered Concept by using the all-new 508 hybrid. They worked their magic on design, performance, and efficiency. Peugeot 508 Sport Engineered Concept is powered with company’s PureTech 200 engine that is mated with 110hp electric motor that transfers power to front wheels. There is also second motor installed with 200hp output that power the rear wheels. The total torque is 500Nm.
The setup helps Peugeot 508 Sport Engineered Concept is able to accelerate from 0 to 62mph in 4.3 seconds. The top speed is mechanically limited and is 155 mph. The sedan also possesses 11.8 kWh battery that offers all-electric driving range of 31 miles. Bespoke powertrain is complemented by lower suspension and wide track has been widened by 24mm and rear track by 12mm. Even the steering system has been improved and it rides on set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Aesthetics of Peugeot 508 Sport Engineered Concept has been improved with the help of a new front bumper which incorporates a 3D-printed valance to direct air into the radiator and towards the rear diffuser.
Additionally, there are small winglets on the quarter panels and flaps fitted to the subframes to reduce aerodynamic drag. The exterior is painted with “Selenium Grey”. The interior of the concept features new ‘comfort fit’ seats with leather and Alcantara upholstery, a plush steering wheel with Alcantara and carbon fiber, and a trio of Peugeot Sport Engineered lines across the bottom of the steering wheel. There is also roof, A-pillars and quarter panels are also bathed in Alcantara and ‘Kryptonite’ finishing is found around the door handles and dashboard. The French didn’t disclose if the concept will hit production.
