At the concluded Frankfurt Motor Show, we got our eyes on the new Opel Insignia GSi. Now, we have confirmed news that it is available for order in balloon and estate versions for many European markets. The price of Opel Insignia GSi Grand Sport kicks off from €45,595 (tax included) in Germany. On the other hand, Opel Insignia GSi Sports Tourer (station wagon) starts from €46,595. GSi is available with two powertrain and they comprise of 2.0 liter bi-turbo diesel and 2.0 liter turbocharged petrol unit.
The diesel engine churns out 207 horsepower and 480Nm of torque. The petrol unit gives an output of 256 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Both of these versions will be mated with eight-speed automatic transmission. Apart from two powertrains, Opel Insignia GSi will have FlexRide chassis and all-wheel drive that comes with torque vectoring. Lowering springs enables to reduce ride height by 0.4 inches. It also comes with Brembo brakes and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires.
There are three driving modes available with Opel Insignia GSi and they are Standard, Tour, and Sport modes. Lastly, there is an additional exclusive mode which goes by the name of Competition. It can be activated by pressing ESP button. The estate version takes 7.9 seconds to attain the speed of 62mph from 0, before reaching the top speed of 144mph. On paper, 2018 Insignia GSi looks more powerful than any other Insignia present. We have attached few images in this post for your consideration.
