Not many people were happy with the low power in the Opel Insignia GSi, but still it is quite powerful. If one brands 252 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque to be decent then so be it. The power comes from 2.0 liter turbocharged petrol engine. With this decent performance statistics, it managed to outdo the former flagship by lapping up faster on Nurburgring. After debuting at Frankfurt Motor Show, a new advertisement of Opel Insignia GSi surfaced online. In a statement by Opel, the new Insignia GSi feels at home on this iconic track.
They are also offering Opel Insignia GSi as Sports Tourer part from the Grand Sport. It will be coming with second engine option and comprise of 2.0 liter twin-turbo diesel engine. It gives an output of 207 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque. The estate version with the help of this setup helps the car to accelerate from 0 to 62mph in 7.9 seconds. The top speed of the car stands at 144mph. Both the discussed versions of Opel Insignia GSi will be available on sale in coming months. The pricing details of the cars will be disclosed later on when it nears the launch.
The new Opel Insignia GSi is lighter by 160 kg compared to the previous OPC version. It can be attributed to the new chassis and top model comes with adaptive dampers, model specific shorter springs and bigger Brembo brakes. Advanced all-wheel drive system sends the power to the rear axle. There are four modes available for the drivers which are Standard, Tour, Sport, and Competition Package.
