Nissan has unveiled Leaf Nismo RC electric racer. It will make its official debut on 2nd December in Tokyo during Nismo Festival Fuji International Speedway. Nissan Leaf Nismo RC is the second race tuned Leaf from their Nismo Racing Division. This Leaf electric racer comprises of dual electric motors and offers a combined output of 322hp and 640Nm of torque. The output has been doubled when compared with predecessor that was revealed in the year 2011. Nissan claims that Leaf Nismo RC can accelerate from 0-62mpoh in 3.4 seconds and is a significant improvement over Leaf Nismo RC.
Six examples of this car will made for demonstration to perform and will take part at various events including Formula E. Nissan’s Executive VP and chief of Marketing, Sales and Electric Vehicles, Daniele Schillaci said that Leaf Nismo RC is setting their eyes on higher when it comes to raw performance and power. He further added that it would electric cars more enticing for buyers. Nissan Leaf Nismo RC is one of their thrilling expressions of Nissan Intelligent Mobility till date. Scale of the Leaf Nismo RC tips at just 2,690lbs.The reason behind it is the use of carbon fiber monocoque.
The electric motors and inverters have been placed over front and rear tires to offer better balance. Nissan Leaf Nismo RC is an all-wheel drive and provides instant torque supply to the tires. High capacity lithium-ion battery and inverter is supplied by 2nd gen Leaf. With respect to aesthetics, Nissan Leaf Nismo RC has restyled front end, adjustable rear wing, LED lighting, fixed windows and three-piece bodywork with removable front and rear sections. Ground clearance is low and wears silver and black color scheme.
