Nissan have collaborated with Italdesign for the creation of GTR50 prototype. This special model is built to commemorate 50th anniversary of legendary sports car from Japan and Italdesign. Nissan GT-R celebrated its 50th birthday and Japan based automaker collaborated with Italdesign for first time to create “limitless” GT-R. Italdesign developed, engineered and built this one-off prototype. This special Nissan GT-R50 will debut in Europe next month. Nissan GT-R50 has completely new bodywork and also gets distinctive gold detailing. There is also a new hood and which has more pronounced power bulge.
On the exterior one can spot thin LED headlights, roofline lowered by 54mm, steeper rake for the rear window along with twin floating taillights with hollow centers. The paint finish on the Nissan GT-R50 prototype is “Liquid Kinetic Gray” and is complemented by “Energetic Sigma Gold” accents. The wheels are custom and is of 21 inches dimension. The cabin of the Nissan GT-R50 is also bespoke and dashboard gets a new design that strangely doesn’t feature an infotainment system. It helps in giving it a cleaner look and the instrument cluster is digital. The interior also features two carbon fiber finishes and it can be found on center console, instrument panel and door linings.
Alcantara and leather upholstery is black is used on seats whereas gold details complements the exterior. With respect to engine, Nissan GT-R50 is powered with handmade twin-turbo 3.8 liter V6 unit and is upgraded by NISMO with larger GT3 competition-spec turbos, larger intercoolers, heavy-duty crankshaft, pistons, connecting rods and bearings. Other features include high-flow piston oil jets, revised camshaft profiles, higher-flow fuel injectors and optimized intake and exhaust systems. These tweaking enables the engine to churn out 710 horsepower and 780Nm of torque. Reinforced six-speed dual-clutch transmission is provided along with stronger differentials and drive shafts to ensure that power is transferred safely to all four wheels. Bilstein DampTronic adjustable dampers are used for suspension.
