Nissan has another special edition for the GT-R and is created to celebrate their partnership with Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka. She joined as brand’s ambassador this fall. The special edition of Nissan GT-R will be available in Japan only and only 50 units will be offered. Naomi Osaka helped Nissan to come up with three colors for GT-R. They are dubbed as Midnight Opal, Brilliant White and Meteor Flake Black Pearl respectively. Nissan GT-R will also features LED stop lights on the dry carbon rear spoiler along with a plate with each car’s serial number in the engine bay.
This is done to signify its limited run. Pricing details of the special edition Nissan GT-R will be revealed later on. Nissan is making the GT-R even more enticing interior scheme to complement chosen exterior color. All the special edition models will be based on Premium edition grade and thus, it will command a higher price than regular models. Nissan hasn’t forgotten about its predecessor. Last year, NISMO Heritage Parts program for R32 Skyline was introduced. Now, the same wide range of components has been launched for R33 and R34 Skyline models.
Nissan is currently developing next generation GT-R which will be revealed by the end of this decade. It will be underpinned by new underpinnings and might have electric powertrain. Hence, we might see 3.0 liter twin-turbo V6 engine working in conjugation with one or more electric motors. KERS like system is also anticipated and if this turns out to be true then it would have an output in excess of 600hp.
