Official Mopar day is on 26th April and on this occasion, they are taking pre-orders for 1,000hp Hellephant Supercharged Hemi V8 crate engine and kit. This monster engine was unveiled to the world at 2018 SEMA Show. Incidentally, this is the first crate unit to be offered by an OEM with such a mammoth output (1,000 horsepower and 950 lb-ft of torque). Interested buyers would have to shell out $29,995 MSRP for the Hellephant 426 Supercharged crate Hemi engine. For an additional $2,265, buyers would get engine kit that makes installation an easy plug-and-play for experienced person.
Head of Parts & Service, Mopar, Steve Beahm said that the reaction they got after introducing “Hellcat” engine at SEMA show was overwhelming and amazing. They carried the momentum after the show with around 1,000 people interested in buying the engine. He further added that power and performance are ingrained in the company’s DNA and there is no better time to take pre-order for 1,000hp Hellephant Supercharged Hemi V8 crate engine on HEMI day. With respect to Mopar Hellephant Supercharged Hemi V8 crate engine, it manages to hit 1,000hp thanks to its bigger capacity which stands at 6.98-liters. It features 4 inches of stroke and bore specs at 4.125 inches. The all-aluminum block is paired to a supercharger with a high-efficiency rotor.
Engine assembly is completed by inclusion of water pump, flywheel, front sump oil pan, supercharger with throttle body, fuel injectors and coil packs. The engine adds a powertrain control module (PCM), power distribution center, engine wiring harness, chassis harness, accelerator pedal, ground jumper, oxygen sensors, charge air temperature sensors, fuel pump control module and CAN bus interface device. Mopar designed the engine assembly and kit for usage on pre-1976 street and off-road vehicles.
