MINI is marking the celebration of 25th anniversary of the Rover Mini Cabriolet with the launching of a new edition in the United Kingdom. This new edition is said to be very special. MINI has decided that the model is going to be nicely equipped with leather seats in Satellite Grey colors. The audio system would be a Harman Kardon premium and one would find an 8.8-inch touchscreen in the Navigation Plus Package along with Apple CarPlay compatibility. The steering wheel has an added sporty look with the help of the Chili Pack with has an automatic climate control system. This is added by rain-sensing wipers. It is decided by the brand that the production of the new model will be limited to only 300 units. The price has been fixed at £32, 995. It is clear that the anniversary model will cost more than the John Cooper Works Convertible and even more than the Cooper S Convertible.
MINI has taken a look back at the 1993 original convertible before introducing their anniversary edition. The 1993 one would cost double than the standard MINI and was available in Nightfire Red or Caribbean Blue. The edition has got 12-inch wheels along with a burr walnut dashboard and powertrains taken from the Cooper 1.3i. Some years later, at the 2004 Geneva Motor Show, MINI went ahead to introduce the new convertible. In the United Kingdom, since then MINI has sold more than 89,000 convertibles.
