MG XS revealed for UK market and is rebadged ZS

MG Motor announced the all new XS for the United Kingdom at London Motor Show. This new compact crossover will go on sale this winter. MG XS is nothing but renamed version of ZS which made its debut last year at Auto China Show. Even though the specifications of the MG XS is still not know, but they did confirm that it will be available in two petrol engines. The engines then can be paired with manual or automatic transmission. Since, no details are available yet we can only speculate at this point of point.


The Chinese variant comes with naturally aspirated 1.5 liter engine. It produces an output of 118 horsepower (88 kW/ 120 PS) and 150 Nm of torque. Customers can also opt for turbocharged 1.6 liter engine which gives 133 horsepower and 170 Nm of torque. According to MG UK Head of Sales and Marketing, MG XS is going to be game changer in the compact SUV segment. MG XS will not only feature innovative design but also state-of-the-art driving technology with it. MG Motor is making its name in performance, capability, quality and affordability.


MG XS is all set to rival Nissan Juke and SsangYong Tivoli. Even though the pricing details have not been announced yet, but it is for certain that will undercut similar crossovers. The pricing will be revealed when launch is near. MG informed that there is meaning to XS as well. X means extra whereas S means SUV. In coming time, MG will expand the XS range by introducing electric and PHEV variants.
