Range topping version of Mercedes-Benz GLE has been spotted during winter test but was heavily camouflaged. Dubbed as Mercedes-Benz GLE 63, it doesn’t appear to have any AMG exterior styling but did consist of five dual-spoke alloy wheels. Judging the spy photos of Mercedes-Benz GLE 63, without the AMG front and rear spoiler, the coupe didn’t seem imposing. Nonetheless, we have to see Mercedes-Benz GLE 63 without camouflage to come to any conclusion. Designers at Mercedes-Benz did a great job in hiding the exterior aesthetics of the coupe but it looks like it would have multi-upright Panamericana design.
Base trim is expected to arrive as 2020MY. The popularity of four-door coupe seems to be increasing by the day. There are some people who appreciate stylish exterior rather the practicality. This is the only reason why many fans would opt for GLE Coupe instead of regular GLE. Mercedes-Benz GLE 63 is set to make its public debut somewhere by this year. It will have to compete against the formidable force of Audi Q8 which will be revamped soon and also BMW’s upcoming third-generation X6.
The spy photos give a strong indication that Mercedes-Benz GLE 63 will have sloped roofline eversion of GLE. Apart from a massive grille, other features include a more angular shoulder line, large sweptback headlights, and a fastback-like rear end design. The interior will have same steering wheel, along with 12.3 inch displays and dashboard design. Engine range will be based on market availability. Mercedes-Benz GLE will be available in 53 and 63/63S variant. The former offers 429hp and while the latter offers somewhere between 536hp and 603hp.
