The Mercedes AMG GT R has recently made its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. However, the fans of this high performance car should better hurry up. The company is reportedly going to limit the production of this vehicle. Autocar says, Mercedes official recently indicated at limiting the production of AMG GTR to only 2,000 units. However, this news is not an official one. Although the GT R is a road legal car but Mercedes believes the models will be spending most of their time on the track.
The Mercedes AMG GT R has got an aggressive front fascia along with AMG Panamericana grille. This recalls the one that has been used on Mercedes 300 SL. This car was victorious in the Panamericana road race in the year 1952. The car has also been added with carbon fiber front fenders, active aerodynamic components and front splitter. Carbon fiber roof, center mounted exhaust and sporty rear diffuser are also included in the car. All of these equipments truly make the Mercedes AMG GT R a desirable car from every aspect.
The car has been equipped with a biturbo V8 engine of 4.0 liter. This setup ensures an output of 584 hp and 516 lb ft of torque. It is linked to a 7 speed AMG SpeedShift dual clutch transmission. This allows the Mercedes AMG GT R to rocket from 0 to 62 mph in 3.6 seconds. The high performance vehicle hits a top speed of 197 miles per hour. If the report turns out to be true then the fans of AMG GT R must act fast and book their models as soon as possible. The Mercedes AMG GT R will also make its debut in the next Transformation series.
