When everyone thought that there can’t be more power for Mercedes-AMG GT R, we all have been proven wrong. This time around, a German based tuner Fostla have managed to add 64hp (65 PS/48kW) and 70 Nm of torque. Level 1 Performance Upgrade for Mercedes-AMG GT R enables twin-turbo 4.0 liter V8 engine to offer 641hp (650PS/478 kW) and 770Nm of torque. The tuning company didn’t disclose the0-62mph acceleration time, but we know that stock version takes 3.6 seconds. This, tuned version will save the time by couple of tenths.
With the help of extra boost, the supercar from Mercedes can mix with the likes of Lamborghini Huracan Evo. If we are being realistic, it will take a lot of effort to actually beat the Italian supercar that doesn’t seem to need any aftermarket tuning job. Without any upgrades, Italian vehicle can hit 0 to 62mph mark in just 2.9 seconds. However, this particular Mercedes-AMG GT R is more powerful than Lamborghini’s naturally aspirated 6.5 liter V10 unit as it only offers 631hp (640 PS/ 470 kW) and 600 Nm of torque. There are many disadvantages for Mercedes-AMG GT R when compared with Lamborghini Huracan Evo.
One of them is that Lamborghini offers all-wheel drive system whereas Mercedes only comes with rear-wheel drive. Thus, Lamborghini can triumph Mercedes on any given day. Nonetheless, driving RWD sports car is lot of fun and not many of them buy to compete against other sports car. To ensure that Mercedes-AMG GT R presence is felt on road, Fostla added full vinyl wrap with an urban camo pattern at the rear and a yellow finish at the front.
