We are still engrossed by the beauty of McLaren Senna, but now the British carmaker have added new concept which takes it to another new level. This time the model is McLaren Senna GTR Concept. It is currently being premiered at 2018 Geneva Motor Show. Even though the name “Concept” is attached to it, the production of McLaren Senna GTR Concept has been confirmed. It will be a track only model and follows the footsteps of P1 GTR. McLaren Senna GTR Concept is underpinned by Monocage III structure which is also present in standard “Senna”.
The weight of this concept car would be same as road car but will offer more grunt. McLaren claims that it will have an output of over 825PS. The output or powertrain isn’t the only aspects which distinguish from its sibling. Changes are made to its aerodynamics, as well as on the front and rear fenders. Other distinguishable features are huge front splitter and a rear diffuser. All these changes generates a downforce over 1000 kg. It makes one of the fastest McLaren’s around expect the Formula 1 racing car.
Mike Flewitt who is CEO McLaren confirmed that it will be of limited production and only 75 units will be made. McLaren Senna on which this concept is based will have just 500 units made. The production of McLaren Senna GTR Concept will begin from 2019 and its technical specifications will be revealed later this year. Even though McLaren Senna GTR Concept is not a finished version, but it shows how company is thinking about their future cars.
