The production of McLaren 600LT has a lifespan of just 12 months, but still tuning company are offering upgrades for it. One such tuner is Hennessey who are offering power upgrades for limited-run. Owners who are willing to increase output shouldn’t miss out on this opportunity. In the HPE1000 trim, twin-turbo 3.8 liter V8 unit offers an output of 1,001 horsepower and 1,173 Nm of torque. The stock version of McLaren 600LT offers an output of 592 horsepower and 620 Nm of torque. In an interview to Top Gear, Hennessey company founder John Hennessey stated that he decided to buy McLaren 600LT for the same reason he brought new Ford GT.
It will also give them solid benchmark for Venom F5. After taking a ride with the McLaren 600LT, he came to a conclusion that it needs more power. His team of highly professional skilled workers started to work on the upgrades. John Hennessey even thinks that McLaren 600LT with HPE1000 could threat McLaren Speedtail hypercar with its amazing performance. To obtain such improved performance, Hennessey installed revised turbos, a high-flow wastegate, new exhaust hardware, an upgraded intercooler, high-flow air filters, and Motec engine management. They even tweaked with seven-speed gearbox to ensure that transmission is strong enough to handle excessive power. McLaren 600LT with HPE1000 package can hit 0-60mph in 2.1 seconds and can cover quarter of mile in 9.6 seconds.
Stock version takes 2.8 seconds to achieve the same. With HPE 800 pack, the output on offer is 805hp and 979Nm of torque. This setup helps the car to accelerate from 0-60mph in 2.4 seconds and takes 10.1 seconds to hit quarter of a mile. There is also HPE 700 pack which offers 708hp and 861Nm of torque. It takes 2.6 seconds to hit 0-60mph and can cover quarter of mile in 10.5 seconds. Pricing details of the tuning package has not been revealed. However, if owners can shell out $240,000 for McLaren 600LT, they won’t worry about the price of tuning package.
