Mazda is celebrating its 30th anniversary of first introduction of Miata in the year 1989. The venue was Chicago Auto Show and at the same event Mazda has revealed special 30th Anniversary Edition. This new limited edition is offered with Mazda’s exclusive Racing Orange paint finish along with a set of forged aluminum wheels from Rays and several others. Only 3,000 units of Mazda MX-5 30th Anniversary Edition will be built and only 500 units will arrive on United States shores. Mazda MX-5 30th Anniversary Edition will be made available in soft-top and RF retractable hard-top versions.
Apart from special colors and wheels, MX-5 30th Anniversary Edition will also feature orange Brembo brake calipers up front and matching Nissin brake calipers at the rear. Additionally, there is also Recaro seats with orange accents and a nine-speaker Bose sound system. Orange theme can be found inside the cabin too, it is evident from door trims, dashboard and shift lever. Models that comes with manual transmission is offered with Bilstein dampers and Mazda will offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in select markets only.
Japan based buyers of MX-5 30th Anniversary Edition would be getting 1.5 liter four-cylinder engine. Rest of the world would be getting 2.0 liter variant with 181hp. Price of the Mazda MX-5 30th Anniversary Edition starts from $34,995 which is for manual soft-top version and RF variant starts from $37,595. Automatic gearbox is optional and is priced at $500 for soft-top version and $400 for RF model. Over the course of last 30 years, more than million units of Miata have been sold worldwide. It has made them into one of the iconic roadster in the market.
