Sale of Mazda CX-30 will begin from idle of this year in Europe, which will be followed in other parts of the world. With respect to styling, Mazda CX-30 inculcates new Kodo design language. Akira Marumoto Mazda’s President and CEO said that CX-30 will be made at key global points that promise to deliver Mazda’s famous driving pleasure and experience Kodo design.
Interior of Mazda CX-30 consist of “relaxed and user-friendly packaging” with sufficient room for four adults. Moreover, ride height has been increased when compared with crossover or any other hatch. It gives driver a better look at the road along with easier access to the inside which cannot be found in a crossover. With respect to freestanding infotainment system, it can be availed with help of rotary dial on the center console. When we compare Mazda CX-30 with Mazda3, it has an extra 0.98 inches in ground clearance and an impressive 430 liters of volume inside the trunk. Mazda3 offers only 295 liters.
Power in Mazda CX-30 comes from latest-generation Skyactive engines that include the Skyactiv-X. No official statement has been made regarding the powertrain, but we expect it to use same hardware as of the Mazda3. Hence, we might see 1.0, 2.0 and 2.5 liter petrol engine along with 1.8 liter diesel engine for Europe. An optional all-wheel drive system is expected to be on offer with Mazda CX-30. Pricing details have not been disclosed, but US buyers might have to shell around $20k to $24k.
