By next decade, we are going to see many performance vehicles and might bring back old moniker in reckoning. We have heard a lot about Lotus Evija Electric Supercar and seen few images of it. The word Evija means “first in history” and this is exactly we are seeing with this new electric supercar. The attached video here is a second engineering prototype testing at Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey. Video is only a minute long and images keeps changing that might give you migraine. Nonetheless, we must appreciate car’s development phase has evolved and is testing real prototype.
Debut of Lotus Evija Electric Supercar coincides with Chinese debut at Guangzhou Auto Show in China. Lotus will also test the supercar at Hethel circuit and other circuits around the Europe. These tracks will give challenging corners and long stretches of straight road where Evija can build up speed. In coming months, we are going to see many prototypes gains several hours of testing on tracks and public roads. Talking about Lotus Evija Electric Supercar, only 130 units of production cars will be built. Lotus said that comprehensive validation and initial build process is underway.
Lotus is targeting an output of 1973 horsepower with help from quad electric motors. This setup helps 0-62mph in under 3.0 seconds and additional three seconds to hit 124 mph. Meanwhile, all-wheel drive Evija Electric Supercar takes under 4.0 seconds to hit 186 mph from 124 mph. It has a top speed of more than 200 mph. The battery offers driving range of 250 miles as per WLTP and 270 miles on NEDC cycle. Weight of Lotus Evija Electric Supercar is 1680kg. Price of supercar is between £1.5 million to 2 million.
