Lincoln is the division of the Ford Motor Company which is based in the US. The company sells luxury vehicles. Currently, it imports the luxury vehicles to China. But that is about to change partly. The company is all set to make a significant move in one of the largest markets of the world. Lincoln is all geared up to give tough competition to its rivals. The company is all set to manufacture SUVs by late 2019 in the People’s Republic. The news was reported by AutoNews. The publication has further added that the company will even develop and assemble a latest SUV.
The car model of Lincoln would be tailor-made keeping in mind the local Chinese tastes and preferences. The Blue Oval will make use of an existing facility in China. Chongquig Changan Automobile Co. jointly owns the assembly with Blue Oval. A spokesperson from Lincoln was available for comment. The company believes that local production move is the key step for the brand’s evolution in the Chinese markets. The move will further complement the consistent imports from the US.
There might be an official confirmation about the company working on an innovative SUV. However, the details about the same are yet to be known. The joint venture of Changan and Ford is yet to receive an approval for vehicle production in China. The production approval will only strengthen the sales of the company. As per recorded numbers and figures, the approval will increase the sale in 2017 by 180% in comparison to last year’s sales.
