Lexus is set to introduce their hardcore coupe RC F Track Edition, but before that they have revealed a teaser of it. The meaner looking coupe is set to compete against the likes of BMW M4, Audi RS5 and Mercedes-AMG C63. Lexus RC F Track Edition will debut at 2019 Detroit Auto Show. In a short teaser, it gives us a preview track-focused model and the menacing sound of V8 engine. Toyota’s luxury brand didn’t disclose details of RC F Track Edition, but spy photos and reports suggest that it will gain carbon fiber upgrades for hood, roof, side skirts extensions, large rear wings and others.
As mentioned above, with the usage of lightweight materials, the car will shed some weight and will be beneficial for the performance. At this point of time, exact figure is unknown. Nonetheless, we know for a fact that Lexus engineers have worked their magic on Lexus RC F Track Edition. They have included high-performance exhaust and better cooling and lubrication systems. Suspension has been modified to lower ride height and provide firm ride. Spy photos also revealed that brake calipers are much larger.
Under the hood of Lexus RC F Track Edition, there is 5.0 liter V8 engine. We don’t know the exact output figure but outgoing unit makes 467hp (474PS/348kW) and 527Nm (389lb-ft) of torque. The same unit can be found on LC 500 and is much powerful as it churns out 471hp (478PS/351kW) and 540Nm (398lb-ft) of torque. For now, check out the short teaser of RC F Track Edition.
