Lexus LC 500 stands as the official vehicle of Toyota Gazoo Racing to compete in ADAC Zurich 24h-Rennen that is the Nurburgring’s 24 hours. However, the Lexus LC 500 is the highly customized model that is fully equipped to take part in the race. Hence the grueling race of the year 2018 is scheduled to take place on May 12 that is on Saturday. However, with this, the race is celebrating its 46th anniversary to run on the racetrack. For the consecutive last 12 years. Toyota Gazoo racing is being a part of the race. However, every time they come with some sort of updated Lexus or Toyota.
However this time the Japanese carmaker will come up with Lexus LC 500. The luxury vehicle division of Toyota said that they prefer to come up in the event with car developed by the employees of Toyota. And they do also prefer to take the help of Toyota’s engineers and mechanics to take part in the race. However, with the Lexus LC 500, the carmaker need not have to put much stress on the brain. This is because the car itself is easily identifiable automaker’s halo car. However, the car is been modified for the race. Hence it is been equipped with an updated version of a 2UR-GSE 5.0-liter V8 engine of Lexus. Apart from this, Gazoo Racing has declined to provide any other information for the same.
However, it can be expected that the Lexus LC 500 will compete with the SP8 class vehicles. Since, it is been seen, previously, that SP8, SP3, and SP-PRO competed with Gazoo Racing. However, the Japanese carmaker has come up with the name of the drivers controlling the vehicle. Takeshi Tsuchiya will be seen as the chief driver. He will be assisted by Naoya Gamo, Yuichi Nakayama, and Takamitsu Matsui. However, the motorsport arm revealed thought of the race. According to them, participating in the race will allow them to premiere future technology. Hence by taking part in the 24-hour race, Gazoo will exhibit engine development, aerodynamics development, body technology development and suspension technology.
