Additional new images of the Urus ST-X racer by Lamborghini has been released. Lamborghini Urus ST-X will be competing in next year’s Super Trofeo 2020 World Finals in Misano Adriatico in Italy. This model was showcased as a concept in November of last year and comes from Lamborghini Squadra Corse that makes it easily distinguishable from regular version. For instance, the Urus ST-X Racer is covered in Verde Mantis paint scheme that is found on their Huracan racers. Moreover, it sports center-lock wheels.
Lamborghini Urus ST-X is equipped with an FIA approved steel roll cage, fire suppression system and an FT3 fuel tank. Lamborghini ensured that Urus ST-X is lighter than the road going version and initial weight stands at 1649kg, which is 2 per cent lighter. Power in the Lamborghini Urus ST-X comes from same engine that is used on road car. Hence, it is equipped with twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that offers 641hp and 850 Nm of torque. Performance figure of the engine has not been revealed as of yet. Nonetheless, production model can hit a top speed of 189 mph and takes 3.6 seconds to hit 62mph.
Lamborghini is set to be working on a hardcore version of the street-legal Urus and will use some of the technologies incorporated in ST-X. Maurizio Reggiani, company’s research and development head stated that road-legal version could also use similar weight saving measures just like the ST-X Racer. There is also a strong probability that Lamborghini will increase V8’s output. For this point of time, these are just speculations.
