Fortnight ago, the highly anticipated Lamborghini Urus was showcased. However, many fans are talking about its PHEV version, but it is still not known which powertrain it will be using. A report on AutoExpress surfaced online that suggested that the underpinning in the rumored Urus might be using Porsche Panamera. Hence, there is a strong chance that Lamborghini Urus PHEV will comprise of 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 engine along with electric motor. The same powertrain is also used on Porsche Turbo S E-Hybrid.
The aforementioned model using the same powertrain gives us an output of 671 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. It can sprint from 0 to 62mph in just 3.4 seconds before hitting the top speed of 193mph. If one takes the current Urus then one would notice that it give 641 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. The top speed of current Lamborghini Urus is 190mph whereas it can accelerate to 62mph from 0 in 3.6 seconds.
The new rumored powertrain gets a power boost but also will have zero emission range. If everything goes according to plan, Lamborghini Urus PHEV could drop the CO2 level to 70g/km. It will be advantageous for it in many markets which are quite stringent when it comes to pollution. This will begin a new era for Lamborghini as it will become the first electrified model from the German automaker. Only time will tell, if this plan bear fruition in near future.
