Lamborghini shows their new hybrid hypercar to selected customers

Whenever an automaker wants to showcase their car, they usually unveil it to the world trough different forum. However, this method is usually meant for mass market vehicles but for rare and limited vehicles, this is not the case. The Supercar Blog reports that Lamborghini is round their new hybrid hypercar but the Italian carmaker to only prospective customers. This new hybrid hypercar is derived from wild Terzo Millennio concept. This particular hybrid hypercar is dubbed as LB48H. It is speculated that “L” stands at Lamborghini and “H” for hybrid. The number in between the name might signify 48-volt electrical system.

This electric system will control suspension just like Audi and Bentley has been doing with their car. Lamborghini LB48H might take the Aventador’s 6.5-liter V12 along with its single-clutch and independent-shift-rod gearbox. LB48H will be first production hybrid and it is not the first time they have tested this water. Way back in the year 2004, at Paris Auto Show, Lamborghini showcased Asterion plug-in hybrid concept. Sant’Agata Bolognese based automaker is not near to the electric power or even to their high standards. However, Porsche has collaboration with Rimac which might Lamborghini in this department. At this juncture, all these are just rumors as no conformation has been disclosed.

There is speculation that only 63 examples of Lamborghini LB48H will be made. The process will commence by later this year if everything works according to plan. With respect to price tag, it is estimated that it will be around $2.5 million. It will be built for 200 interested customers who attended the private screening vent held in Italy. More such event is planned for New York and Tokyo.
