If reports are to be believed, Lamborghini is working on a new model concept which is to be launch by 2021. It is done as a comprehensive plan to secure sustainable growth. It will be fourth model by them and will join the likes of Huracan, Aventador, and new Urus. There were rumors about it and now the idea has reached confirmation according to Autocar. Volkswagen Group is offering shared platforms and Lamborghini is trying to make good use of it. This step will make their cars more profitable and also helps them to keep it low volumes.
Commercial director of Lamborghini Federico Foschini was asked about the new car and he said that for now they are staying humble and concentrating all their energy on the pre-production phase of the Urus. They are targeting to double their sales volume over next few years. He also added that they are continuously looking to grow and if the first step of Urus is successful then there are additional possibilities. Their future direction will be in cognizance with their heritage. Lamborghini has already increased their production site of Sant’Agata Bolognese for Urus.
After Lamborghini Urus, the company was planning to introduce four-seater where the engine will be on the front. They have already evaluated 2008 Estoquefor this purpose. The production version might be based on the MSB architecture which is currently used on Bentley Continental GT and Porsche Panamera. Lamborghini hasn’t given an official greenlight to the project as they ate still studying its feasibility. Lastly, Urus will be revealed by the end of this year and the Italian carmaker is hoping to double its sale.
