For the past few months, there are reports that suggest regarding a successor to the highly appreciated Aventador. Several speculations suggest that there is a good probability that it would be coming as hybrid powertrain. Members of McLarenLife even stated that it will be previewed as limited production hypercar. Internal name of the Lamborghini Aventador successor is LB48H. It has already previewed to at a private event this summer in Italy (see the attached image of visiting card for the private event). LB48H was shown as prototype form and takes design cues from enigmatic Lamborghini Terzo Millennio Concept.
Lamborghini LB48H hypercar will make use of the naturally aspirated V12 engine rated at 789hp (800PS/589kW). Additional power will be derived from electric powertrain that offers 49hp (50PS/37kW). Overall, the combined output of this limited production hypercar would be 838 horsepower. As we have reported that LB48H will be of limited production, if reports are to be believed only 200 units will be made. If thus rumor turns out to be true, then it will be much more exclusive than the likes of Porsche 918 Spyder, Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren P1, but with less power.
Other than being a limited production hypercar, LB48H will also serve as a preview for the company’s next-gen flagship supercar. Hence, it will have same recipe such as naturally aspirated V12 engine along with an electric motor. For those who don’t know, this isn’t the first hybrid car from the Italian based automaker. Four years ago in Paris, they showcased Asterion Concept which had 897hp. It utilized a V10 ICE and three electric motors. Lamborghini Asterion claimed to accelerate from 0-62mph in 3.0 seconds before hitting the top speed of 199mph.
