Lamborghini might introduce 1,000hp hybrid hypercar at Frankfurt Show

Lamborghini could be bringing something special at this year’s Frankfurt Auto Show. The event begins from 10th of September. If report from Autocar is to be believed, Italain luxury automaker might introduce a limited production hypercar. Not much is known about the speculated hypercar, but the publication states that it will be priced at £2 million and would feature a hybrid powertrain with a V12 ICE engine. As you would have guessed, performance figures at this point is non-existent.

Codename of the new Lamborghini hypercar is LB48H and was already showcased to prospective buyers last year. If this is true, then there is a strong chance that all units have been already been asked out for even before public unveiling. Despite nothing is official for now, press conference schedule for Frankfurt Auto Show stated that Lamborghini is conducting an event scheduled for 10th September at 11:00 AM local time. Regardless, the new vehicle is rumored to be preview Aventador successor. Styling for both the models is likely to be different both of them would have a hybrid powertrain. Lamborghini could use LB48H to emphasize performance benefits of going green.

Lamborghini official have already discussed about their hybridization plans and previous reports suggested that Aventador successor will inspired by Terzo Millennio concept. Range-topping version is said to have plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines a naturally aspirated V12 engine and up to three electric motors. This setup could offer an output in region of 1,000hp which is a significant improvement over 759hp that is currently offered by Aventador SVJ.
